From steel receiving to export release

Flange Manufacturing and Quality Control

Every order follows a recorded production route. Material identity, dimensions, inspection results, marking, packing and shipment documents remain connected from incoming steel to the finished flange.

How a flange order moves through the factory

01

Raw material receiving

Incoming bars, billets and forged blanks are matched with the material grade and supplier documents assigned to the order.

02

Heat number recording

The original heat number is entered into the production record and carried through cutting, forging, machining and final product marking.

03

Cutting

Steel is cut to the planned blank weight and size. Batch identification stays with the material before it moves to the forging stage.

04

Forging

Heated material is forged into discs or rings for the required flange type. The production route is selected by material, diameter and section size.

05

Heat treatment

Normalizing, solution treatment or another specified heat-treatment route is completed when required by the grade, standard or purchase order. The applicable record is retained with the batch.

06

Machining

Conventional and CNC lathes machine the outside diameter, thickness, bore, hub and other flange geometry to the production drawing.

07

Drilling

Bolt circle diameter, hole quantity and hole diameter are produced to the applicable standard or approved customer drawing.

08

Facing

RF, FF, RTJ and specified sealing surfaces are machined with the finish and geometry required for the flange standard and service.

09

Dimensional inspection

Inspectors check key dimensions, drilling, bore, thickness, facing and visible surface condition before the batch is released for marking.

10

PMI and NDT

PMI, ultrasonic, magnetic-particle, dye-penetrant or third-party witness inspection is arranged when it forms part of the order. Reports are filed with the inspection package.

11

Marking

Finished flanges are marked with the standard, size, pressure rating, material grade, heat number and manufacturer identification required by the order.

12

Rust protection

Carbon-steel flanges receive anti-rust oil, paint, galvanizing or the specified coating after final inspection and surface preparation.

13

Packing

Flanges are separated, wrapped and secured on export pallets or in plywood cases. Labels identify the purchase order, item and package quantity.

14

Container loading

Packages are counted against the packing list and secured for the shipment route before the container is closed.

Shipment documentation

The commercial invoice, packing list, certificate package and agreed inspection records are assembled for dispatch to the buyer.
